Healthspan versus Lifespan

The role of Aesthetic Medicine

Let’s start the organization of our Society’s next Congress. It will be the 46th Congress of the Italian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SIME) and the 20th of the Italian Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (AIMAA).

This organization involves all of us in creating an event that is increasingly innovative and international, addressing all themes with rigorous scientific methods and providing ample space for open and meaningful discussions for all participants.

The new venue of the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola, which we inaugurated in 2024, has provided us with the opportunity to renew ourselves and experiment with a more contemporary and forward-thinking approach to hosting congresses. The spacious, well-equipped facilities are ideal for scientific work, engaging with companies, and personal interactions.

This year, we have an additional reason to participate in the Congress: we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of SIME, which since 1975 has been the foremost authority in Aesthetic Medicine in Italy and is recognized in many European, American, and Asian countries as one of the most scientifically rigorous societies in the field of Aesthetic Medicine.

A rich and surprising inauguration will celebrate this important event.

Healthspan versus Lifespan: the Role of Aesthetic Medicine”, this is the theme – which is also the challenge – for SIME 2025.

Aesthetic Medicine, as always understood by our Society, has been defined as preventive medicine aimed at maintaining psycho-physical well-being, and above all as a discipline that accompanies patients throughout their health and care journey in collaboration with other specialists.

In a reality where life expectancy is increasing and the elderly population holds growing importance, a well-trained and updated Aesthetic Physician can certainly support patients through the various stages of life, including periods when new diseases and/or disabilities related to aging and chronic non-communicable illnesses emerge.

Medical science has extended our lifespans, but the essential step that society must now take is to live longer, actively, in good health, and in harmony with our bodies.

To tackle this challenge, it requires expertise, experience, continuous learning, dialogue with professionals from other disciplines, and commitment to our patients.

The SIME congress 2025 will once again complement the specific themes of Aesthetic Medicine—addressed with broad perspectives and open to the latest therapies—with live sessions that were highly successful last year and were eagerly requested by participants.

Innovations from companies will be presented in informative workshops, and in scientific sessions aimed at expanding knowledge through dialogue, ensuring that all professionals in the field are primarily dedicated to serving patients and their health.

We look forward to your scientific contribution to enrich the congress proposal, to share experiences and clinical studies, updates on therapies and new technologies. Let’s work together to build SIME 2025 and an Aesthetic Medicine that is forward-looking, ready to tackle new challenges for the well-being of patients.
